It could have been hives, well, maybe. When Laura gets really upset, she breaks out all over her face with them. It is sad, but hers usually go away within an hour or so.

Has it gone away yet? If you have a flesh eating disease I will be SO upset man LOL. I'm totally kidding, you're fine and I'm sure you just knocked your chin on something! I always psyche myself out on the smallest things, so just go get it checked out.

LMAO JENNIFER YOU HAVE LOST YOUR MIND.

I do not have herpes, everyone. The mysterious spot on my chin has indeed disappeared.

It wasn't even a bump or anything it looked just like a hicky, I guess I knocked my chin on something?

Herpes? Eww. LOL. Just kidding. Hopefully not on your chin!

There are several things that can cause a rash. It could be an allergic reaction to a food or medication, or your skin could have a reaction to something with which it comes into contact (e.g., soaps, perfumes, metals).

LOL>Here you go:
3. Q:Is it possible to have herpes (genital) on the chin only? My husband, before we were married, was told he had genital herpes. His outbreaks are always on the chin area and occur three-to-five times a year, never in the genital area. Another doctor told him anything "above the waist" is herpes simplex. Who is right?
When he has an outbreak (always on the chin, never anywhere else) can the herpes virus be passed through bodily fluids during sex (not oral sex)? He contracted the herpes through oral sex years ago. Please advise. Julie

A: 'Ok', let's start with a bit of terminology clarification: The title Genital Herpes is only descriptive of where the herpes is on the body. The virus family is called Herpes Simplex. There are two sub groups - Herpes Simplex type 1 and Herpes Simplex type 2. While cold sores (on the face) are most commonly caused by type 1 and genital herpes are most commonly caused by type 2, either can be found above or below the waist. Which type of herpes he has contracted depends on which type the person he received it from had, irrespective of where on the body it was.

It seems odd for a doctor to tell someone they have "genital herpes" if the lesions are on their chin. I wonder whether a swab of his chin lesions grew type 2 herpes and its just been called genital herpes because of the common association with that herpes type.

The main significance of knowing whether it is type 1 or type 2 is that if you have antibodies to which ever type he has then you may be already immune.

If your husband has an outbreak on his chin then you can be infected by contact with the fluid from the active lesions. There are a small number of people who do shed the virus in body fluids even when they don't have an active lesion. My understanding is that shedding usually takes place in the area supplied by the affected nerve root, so it's not likely to happen from his genitals. Kissing him would put you more at risk than sexual intercourse in that situation.

Oh god, if it were me I'd probably have a heart attack, irrationally freak out, and then go to the doctor. Skin rashes creep-me-out.

Good luck! I can definitely sympathize with you're strange unexplained rashes! Take a benadryl.

I'd go get this one checked out, too. I don't know what you'd be allergic to, but I think allergies can pop up any time, even if you haven't had any before.

I hope they can figure it out! That's crazy.

oh gosh, maybe you should go to the doctor and get it checked out, just in case, you don't want it to spread. at first, i thought you were going to say you had hives from being nervous. when i'm extremely nervous and panicky, i get redness like everywhere.
