through the viewfinder
Les got me this bag as one of my Christmas gifts and I absolutely love it. She also got me the cupcake pin and another pin, and my brother and sister-in-law also got me some Pee-Wee Herman pins. They know me too well it seems like. I will probably take photos of the rest of my gifts later today, but I wanted to share this one now because it is my first attempt at taking a photo through the viewfinder of my Kodak Duaflex that I bought nearly a year ago.
I think it turned out well for my first attempt, considering I still don’t really know what I’m doing with my DSLR outside of auto mode. It’s frustrating because I feel like I have the eye for good shots I just can’t ever figure out how to take them. I stalk many great photographers on flickr and I can’t help but wonder how they take the photos that they do. I guess I’ll figure it out sooner or later so long as I keep on trying.
If you know of any good sites/books/whatever that might help, please do let me know.

I hear you on the DSLRs… I’ve learned a little bit in the six months I’ve had my Rebel, but there’s just so much I don’t know how to do yet… settings I’ve yet to touch.
I’ve read/own “The Photography Bible”, and it wasn’t really that helpful, to be honest. It’s very basic, and doesn’t really go into the how-to aspect of shooting. Right now I just Google up methods I’m curious about and go from there. Photojojo.com is pretty good.

I feel better knowing I’m not the only one!
